Its nearly the end of half term and we hadn't done much so we thought we would go and spend a couple days in Lincoln with Dom's family. So Scott took the Friday afternoon off and away we headed.
Saturday 3rd of June |

It was a gloriously fine day and while Dom and her mum went shopping we explored Lincoln Cathedral and the old town. The Cathedral dates back to 1072 and was built on the instruction of William the Conqueror. |
||
The Deans Eye Window. Containing glass dating back to the 13th Century it has recently been completely renovated. |
||
Eimii with her wishing candle. |
||
Painting on the wall in the chapter house. They had a display about filming of the Da Vinci Code, which was done here because Westminster Abbey wasn't available. |
Inside the Cathedral. |
Street performer outside the Cathedral. |
Eimii explaining to Scott the work carried out by Bishop Alexander after the fire of 1141. Scott says Eimii doesn't get her "duck lips" from him! | Sitting outside Lincoln Cathedral and enjoying the sun! |
|
While we were eating lunch a wedding was being held in a small church near the Cathedral. |
Looking back up towards the centre of the old town. |

Walking down towards the High Street. |
Busker playing chopsticks. |

After a hard day being tourists we went out to dinner at a wonderful pub in the middle of nowhere! The pub is on Dunsten Fen and really is in the middle of nowhere, especially after they closed the ferry crossing a few years ago. BUT if you ever find yourself in this part of the world the pub is well worth the effort to get to. Dinner was bloody nice and, like all good English pubs, it was just a nice place to be. |

No Eimii isn't throwing a stick at the Swan. |
